The Pandit 2016 RCT used 250mg twice daily (500mg total). Most other shilajit clinical trials sit in the 250-500mg per day range.

For first-time users, start at 250mg per day for 2 weeks. Watch for any digestive sensitivity. Most users tolerate this without issues. Then raise to 500mg per day for the main protocol.

Timing Through the Day

Morning empty stomach · Classical and clinical convention

Take shilajit in the morning, on an empty stomach, before breakfast. The Charaka Samhita names this as the classical timing.

Wait 30 minutes after the dose before eating breakfast. This gives the resin time to enter the bloodstream without competing with food digestion.

  • Heating honey above 40°C with shilajit. Forms toxic HMF. Never combine.

  • Doubling up after a missed day. No catch-up dosing. Just resume the standard amount.
  • Buying shilajit below ₹500 per 20g. The math does not work. Almost certainly fake.
