Shilajit Resin and Powder: Evidence Report
This report from The Yeti Life sets out what has actually been measured about shilajit resin and processed shilajit powder or extract — and what has not. Of the four human studies below, three used a purified or processed shilajit rather than raw resin. The only published study of the traditional resin is a 2026 open-label pilot in 25 men, and its authors state that clinical evidence on the resin formulation is limited.

These two figures come from different laboratories and methods. They show that fulvic acid content is measured and reported per material, not that one form holds more than another.
What is not known
- No published trial found for this report compares resin and powder directly.
- None of the sources above measures whether drying resin into a powder changes its fulvic acid content.
- We have not tested a powder product ourselves.
Safety applies to every form
The US FDA has warned that certain unapproved ayurvedic products contain harmful levels of heavy metals, which may cause high blood pressure, kidney injury, fatigue, gastrointestinal distress and neurological symptoms, and that such products are typically not labelled as containing lead, mercury or arsenic. Whatever the form, ask for a batch-specific certificate that names the laboratory and the report number.
